Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 piece of ginger, about 2 inches, sliced
- 200 g chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 cup rice
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- Salt, to taste
- 2 green onions, chopped
Method
1. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until soft.
2. Stir in the minced garlic and sliced ginger. Cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
3. Add the chicken pieces and cook until browned, around 5-7 minutes.
4. Mix in the rice, then pour in the chicken broth and fish sauce. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
5. Let it cook, stirring occasionally, for about 30 minutes. Season with salt to taste, then garnish with green onions before serving.
