Ingredients
– 1 sheet of ready-made pie crust
– 4 medium-sized apples, peeled and diced
– 100g brown sugar
– 30g unsalted butter
– 1 tablespoon lemon juice
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 300ml sweetened condensed milk
– 1/2 cup heavy cream
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– A pinch of salt
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 190°C. Roll out the pie crust and place it in a baking dish.
2. In a large saucepan, melt the butter on medium heat. Add the chopped apples, brown sugar, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Cook for about 5 minutes until the apples soften.
3. Transfer the apple mixture into the pie crust, spreading it evenly.
4. In a bowl, mix together the sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, vanilla extract, and salt. Pour this mixture over the apples.
5. Bake the slab pie for 30 to 35 minutes or until the top is bubbly and golden. Let it cool slightly before slicing.
