Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease a 9-inch round cake pan with butter or cooking spray.
2. In a large bowl, mix flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
3. Add buttermilk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla to the dry mixture. Stir until everything combines well.
4. Fold in the butterscotch chips gently. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
5. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow to cool before frosting.
