Ingredients
- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups shredded cheese
- 1 cup cooked shredded chicken
- 1/2 cup buffalo sauce
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup chopped green onions
Method
1. Boil water in a large pot. Add the elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
2. In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute to form a roux.
3. Gradually add the milk while continuously whisking. Cook this mixture until it begins to thicken, which usually takes around 5 minutes.
4. Once thickened, mix in the cheese until fully melted. Stir in the shredded chicken and buffalo sauce. Season with salt and pepper.
5. Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese mixture. Serve and top with chopped green onions for garnish.
