Ingredients
– 3 cups of all-purpose flour
– 1/4 cup of sugar
– 1 packet (7g) of dry yeast
– 1 teaspoon of salt
– 1/2 cup of whole milk
– 1/4 cup of water
– 2 eggs
– 1/4 cup of unsalted butter (melted)
– Oil (for frying)
– Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Method
1. Warm the milk and water in a saucepan until it’s around 110°F. Remove from the heat and stir in the yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it foams.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Make a well in the center and pour in the yeast mixture. Add the eggs and melted butter. Mix until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 to 7 minutes until it’s smooth. Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise for 1 hour or until it doubles in size.
4. Roll out the dough to about 1 inch thick. Cut out donut shapes using a cutter. Place them on a baking sheet and let them rise for 30 minutes.
5. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F. Carefully fry the donuts in batches until golden brown, about 1 minute per side. Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar.
