Ingredients
– 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
– 1 cup corn syrup
– 1 cup brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 4 large eggs
– 2 tablespoons butter, melted
– 1 cup pecans, chopped
– ¼ cup bourbon (optional)
– ½ teaspoon salt
– 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 175°C. Place the pie crust in a pie dish and set it aside.
2. In a large bowl, mix together the corn syrup, brown sugar, and salt until fully combined.
3. Beat the eggs in a separate bowl. Then add them to the corn syrup mixture along with the vanilla, melted butter, and bourbon, if using. Stir well.
4. Carefully fold in the chopped pecans and cinnamon. Pour this mixture into the prepared pie crust.
5. Bake in the oven for 60 to 70 minutes. The pie is done when the center is set and slightly puffed. Let it cool before serving.
