Delicious Awadhi Tahari: Flavorful Vegetable Rice Pulao Recipe

Ingredients

– 1 cup basmati rice
– 3 cups water
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 1 large onion, sliced
– 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
– 1 cup mixed vegetables (like peas, carrots, and beans)
– 1 teaspoon garam masala
– 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 1 bay leaf
– Salt, to taste

Method

1. Rinse the basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
2. Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat, then add the sliced onion. Sauté until golden brown.
3. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste, cumin seeds, and bay leaf. Cook for about a minute until fragrant.
4. Add the mixed vegetables and rice. Sauté for a few minutes, then pour in the water and add salt.
5. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and cover. Cook for 15-20 minutes until the rice is fluffy and the water is absorbed.
