Ingredients
– 1 sheet of puff pastry
– 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
– 100 ml dulce de leche
– 1 tablespoon brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
– Icing sugar (for dusting)
– Vanilla ice cream, optional
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface. Cut it into squares, about 10 cm each side.
3. In a bowl, mix diced apples, brown sugar, and cinnamon together. Spoon a bit of the apple mixture and dulce de leche onto each pastry square.
4. Fold the corners of the pastry squares to meet in the center and pinch to seal them. Place on the baking tray.
5. Brush the top of each puff with the beaten egg. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Dust with icing sugar before serving, and add ice cream if desired.
