Ingredients
1 large apple (peeled, cored, and diced)
1 cup dulce de leche
1 pack of puff pastry (about 2 sheets)
1 egg (beaten)
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbsp sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
A pinch of salt
Flour (for dusting)
Vanilla ice cream (for serving, optional)
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2. Toss the diced apple with lemon juice, cinnamon, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
3. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface. Cut it into squares, about 10 cm each.
4. Place a spoonful of dulce de leche and a small amount of the apple mixture in the center of each square. Fold the corners over to create a pocket and seal the edges.
5. Brush the tops with beaten egg and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream if desired.
