Ingredients
- 1 whole turkey (about 4 to 5 kg)
- 100 g butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 lemon, halved
- 2 cups chicken broth
- Fresh herbs (such as thyme and rosemary)
- 1 onion, quartered
Method
- Preheat your oven to 180°C.
- Mix softened butter, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a bowl. Use your hands to rub this mixture all over the turkey.
- Stuff the turkey with lemon halves, quartered onion, and fresh herbs.
- Place the turkey in a roasting pan and pour chicken broth into the bottom of the pan.
- Roast for about 2 to 2.5 hours, basting occasionally, until the internal temperature reaches 75°C. Let it rest before carving.
