Ingredients
– 3 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
– 1 cup dried lentils
– 2 teaspoons cumin seeds
– 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 1 teaspoon red chili powder
– 1 teaspoon coriander powder
– ½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)
– 2 tablespoons oil
– ½ cup water
– Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Method
1. Cook the lentils in water until they are soft. Drain and set them aside.
2. Heat the oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they start to sizzle, add the cubed potatoes.
3. Sprinkle turmeric, red chili, coriander powder, and salt over the potatoes. Stir well to mix.
4. Add the cooked lentils and ½ cup of water. Cover the pan and cook until the potatoes are tender.
5. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
