Delicious Aloo Puri And Halwa Combinations For A Perfect Feast

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 3 tablespoons of oil for the dough
  • 3 to 4 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon of ajwain seeds (carom seeds)
  • 1 teaspoon of red chili powder
  • Oil for frying
  • ½ cup of sugar
  • 2 cups of water

Method

  1. Combine wheat flour and salt in a bowl. Gradually mix in 3 tablespoons of oil and enough water to form a smooth dough. Cover with a cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, mix the mashed potatoes with cumin seeds, ajwain seeds, and red chili powder. Adjust the seasoning to your taste.
  3. Divide the dough into small balls. Flatten each ball into a circle, add a spoonful of the potato mixture in the center, and seal it by folding over the edges.
  4. Heat oil in a deep pan. Carefully fry the filled dough circles until they puff up and turn golden brown on both sides.
  5. Prepare a simple syrup by boiling sugar and water together until dissolved. Serve the hot aloo puris with a drizzle of syrup on top.
