Ingredients
- 150 g dark chocolate, chopped
- 125 g unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and line a cake pan.
- Melt the chocolate and butter together in a bowl over simmering water. Stir until smooth.
- Add brown sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well until combined.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the chocolate mixture.
- Fold in pear slices and walnuts, if using. Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 30-35 minutes until firm.
