Ingredients
– 400g firm tofu
– 60ml miso paste
– 30ml lime juice
– 30ml maple syrup
– 15ml soy sauce
– 1 tsp garlic powder
– 1 tsp ginger powder
– 60g cornflour
– 500ml vegetable oil (for frying)
– Fresh coriander (for garnish)
Method
1. Start by pressing the tofu to remove excess moisture. Cut it into bite-sized cubes.
2. In a bowl, mix together miso paste, lime juice, maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic powder, and ginger powder to create a marinade.
3. Add the tofu cubes to the marinade. Let them sit for at least 30 minutes to soak up the flavors.
4. Coat each piece of marinated tofu in cornflour. This will make them crispy when cooked.
5. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Fry the tofu until golden and crispy on all sides. Place on paper towels to absorb excess oil. Garnish with fresh coriander before serving.
