Ingredients

– 3 to 4 medium apples, peeled and sliced
– 100 g sugar
– 1 teaspoon cinnamon
– 1 tablespoon lemon juice
– 2 teaspoons cornstarch
– 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces
– 1 packet ready-made pie crusts
– 1 egg, beaten (for brushing)
– 1 tablespoon milk

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 220°C.
2. In a large bowl, mix the sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and cornstarch until well combined.
3. Lay one pie crust in a pie dish, then fill it with the apple mixture.
4. Dot the filling with small pieces of butter. Cover with the second pie crust, sealing the edges by crimping them with your fingers.
5. Brush the top with beaten egg and milk, then cut a few slits to allow steam to escape. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
