Ingredients
– 1 cup dried chickpeas
– 1 large onion, chopped
– 2 medium tomatoes, chopped
– 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
– 1 tablespoon oil
– 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 1 tablespoon garam masala
– 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
– 1 teaspoon red chili powder
– Fresh cilantro, for garnish
Method
1. Soak the chickpeas in water overnight. Drain and rinse them the next day.
2. Cook chickpeas in a pot with enough water until they are soft, about 30-40 minutes.
3. In a large pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden.
4. Stir in ginger-garlic paste, chopped tomatoes, turmeric, red chili, and garam masala. Cook for a few minutes until the mixture thickens.
5. Add the cooked chickpeas to the pan. Mix well and simmer for 10 minutes. Garnish with cilantro before serving.
