Ingredients
– 2 cups rice
– 4 cups water
– 1 cup sugar
– 1 tsp cardamom powder
– 1/2 cup milk
– 1/4 cup nuts (like almonds or cashews)
– 1/4 cup raisins
– 2 tbsp ghee or butter
– A pinch of salt
– Food coloring (optional)
Method
1. Wash the rice under running water until the water runs clear.
2. Combine rice and water in a pot, then bring it to a boil.
3. Reduce heat, cover the pot, and simmer until all the water is absorbed.
4. In another pot, mix sugar, milk, cardamom powder, and a pinch of salt. Heat until the sugar dissolves.
5. Once the rice is cooked, add it to the milk mixture along with nuts, raisins, and ghee. Stir well and cook for a few more minutes until everything is combined.
