Ingredients
– 500 g pork belly, cut into bite-sized pieces
– 2 tablespoons soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
– 1 tablespoon sugar
– 1 cup water
– 1 piece ginger, sliced
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 2 spring onions, chopped
– 1 star anise
– 1 tablespoon cooking oil
Method
1. Heat the cooking oil in a large pot over medium heat.
2. Add the pork belly pieces and cook until browned on all sides.
3. Stir in the ginger, garlic, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, star anise, and water.
4. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and cover. Cook for about 1 hour or until the pork is tender.
5. Once ready, sprinkle with chopped spring onions and serve.
