- 4 large eggs

Method
- Fill a medium saucepan with water and add vinegar. Bring it to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
- Crack each egg into a small bowl, being careful not to break the yolk.
- With a spoon, stir the simmering water to create a gentle whirlpool, then slide each egg into the centre one by one.
- Cook the eggs for about 3-4 minutes for runny yolks. Use a slotted spoon to remove them from the water.
- Serve on a plate topped with butter, salt, pepper, and optional ingredients like fresh herbs or avocado slices.
