Ingredients
– 1 cup butter

– 4 large eggs

Method
1. Begin by preheating the oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease a baking pan or line it with baking paper.
2. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the sugar until combined well.
3. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Pour in the vanilla extract and combine.
4. In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the butter mixture, blending until just combined.
5. Fold in the chocolate chips and nuts, if using. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
