Flavorful Arbi With Sesame Tamarind Sauce: Easy Chama Dumpa Pulusu Recipe

Ingredients

500 g arbi (taro)
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 tablespoon tamarind paste
1 teaspoon jaggery (or brown sugar)
2 green chilies, chopped
1 tablespoon oil
Salt to taste
Fresh coriander for garnish

Method

Start by boiling the arbi in water until tender. This should take around 15 to 20 minutes. Drain and cool.

Next, peel the boiled arbi and slice it into pieces.

Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Once they start to pop, toss in the chopped green chilies and sesame seeds. Stir everything for a couple of minutes.

Mix in the sliced arbi along with tamarind paste, jaggery, and salt. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring gently to combine flavors.

Serve the dish hot, garnished with fresh coriander.
