Ingredients

500 g fresh green beans
50 g sliced almonds
30 ml olive oil
2 garlic cloves, minced
Salt, to taste
Pepper, to taste
30 g butter
15 ml lemon juice
1 tsp lemon zest
Parmesan cheese, for serving

Method

1. Start by trimming the ends of the green beans and rinsing them under cold water.
2. Boil a pot of water and add a pinch of salt. Cook the beans for about 4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
3. Drain the beans and immediately place them in a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking.
4. In a skillet, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sliced almonds, cooking for about 2 minutes until they turn golden.
5. Combine the beans with the garlic and almond mixture. Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
