Ingredients

– 500 g fresh asparagus
– 12 strips of bacon
– 1 tablespoon olive oil
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon black pepper
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 tablespoon brown sugar
– 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
– 1 tablespoon lemon juice
– 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a baking tray with foil for easy cleanup.
2. Rinse the asparagus under cool water and trim off the tough ends.
3. Take one strip of bacon and wrap it around each asparagus spear, starting from the bottom. Place them on the baking tray.
4. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, garlic powder, black pepper, salt, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. Drizzle this mixture over the wrapped asparagus.
5. Bake for about 15-20 minutes in the oven until the bacon is crispy.
