Delicious Sticky Toffee Pudding Recipe: A Classic Dessert Treat

Ingredients

  • 3 cups chopped dates
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 100g butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup toffee sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Put the chopped dates and boiling water in a bowl. Mix in baking soda and let it cool down.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  4. Add the cooled date mixture to the butter mixture. Combine well, then fold in the flour and baking powder.
  5. Pour the batter into the greased dish. Bake for about 30-35 minutes until a skewer comes out clean. Serve warm with toffee sauce.
