Ingredients
4 kg whole turkey
500 g butter, softened
250 ml chicken broth
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon dried thyme
1 tablespoon dried rosemary
1 lemon, halved
1 onion, quartered
500 g mixed vegetables (carrots, potatoes)

Method
Begin by preheating the oven to 180°C.
Next, rinse the turkey under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.
Spread the softened butter all over the turkey, then season with salt, pepper, thyme, and rosemary.
Stuff the lemon and onion inside the turkey cavity.
Place the turkey in a roasting pan, add chicken broth around it, and surround with mixed vegetables. Roast for about 2.5 to 3 hours, basting occasionally.
