Delicious Hungarian Sour Cherry Cake Recipe – Easy To Make!

Ingredients

– 250 ml milk
– 200 g sugar
– 2 large eggs
– 120 g butter, softened
– 250 g all-purpose flour
– 1 tsp vanilla extract
– 1 tsp baking powder
– 400 g sour cherries, pitted
– A pinch of salt
– Icing sugar, for dusting

Method

1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a baking dish and set it aside.
2. In a large bowl, mix together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt, then gradually add this to the butter mixture along with the milk. Mix until smooth.
5. Pour half of the batter into the prepared dish. Spread the sour cherries evenly on top, then add the rest of the batter. Bake for about 40-45 minutes or until golden brown. Allow it to cool and dust with icing sugar before serving.
