Ingredients
– 1 cup broken wheat (dalia)
– 2 tablespoons cooking oil
– 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
– 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 1 onion, finely chopped
– 1-2 green chilies, chopped
– 2 cups water
– Salt, to taste
– 1/2 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, peas, etc.)
– Fresh coriander leaves, for garnish
Method
1. Heat the cooking oil in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
2. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Cook them until they pop.
3. Stir in chopped onion and green chilies. Cook until the onion turns soft and golden brown.
4. Mix in the broken wheat and cook for 2-3 minutes. Then add water, salt, and mixed vegetables.
5. Bring everything to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 15 minutes until the water is absorbed. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
