Ingredients
– 1 cup roasted chana dal
– 1 tablespoon oil
– 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
– 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
– 1-2 green chilies, chopped
– 1 medium onion, roughly chopped
– 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced
– 1/2-inch piece of ginger, grated
– Salt, to taste
– Fresh coriander leaves, for garnish
Method
1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds, allowing them to splutter.
2. Mix in the chopped green chilies, onion, garlic, and ginger. Cook until the onion becomes soft and lightly golden.
3. Combine the roasted chana dal and salt to the pan. Stir everything together and cook for a couple of minutes.
4. Let the mixture cool down slightly, then blend it to a smooth chutney in a blender or food processor.
5. Serve the chutney garnished with fresh coriander leaves. Enjoy it as a dip or with various dishes.
