Ingredients
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ cup ghee or vegetable oil
½ teaspoon caraway seeds
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon turmeric powder
1 cup cooked split yellow peas
½ teaspoon red chili powder
Water as needed
Oil for frying
Method
Start by mixing the flour, ghee, caraway seeds, and salt in a large bowl.
Add enough water to knead the mixture into a smooth dough. Cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
In a separate bowl, combine cooked split yellow peas, cumin, turmeric powder, and red chili powder into a filling.
Divide the dough into small balls and flatten each one. Place some filling in the center, then fold and seal it.
Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the kachoris until they turn golden brown. Drain on paper towels before serving.
