Ingredients
250 ml warm water
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons instant yeast
1 teaspoon salt
60 ml olive oil
500 g all-purpose flour
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Method
1. In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
2. Stir in salt and olive oil. Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place it in an oiled bowl and cover with a cloth.
4. Allow the dough to rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
5. Shape the dough into small balls. Place them on a greased baking tray, brush with egg wash, and let rise for another 30 minutes before baking at 180°C for 20 to 25 minutes.
