Ingredients
6 cups of stale bread, torn into pieces
2 cups of milk
1 cup of cream
4 eggs
3/4 cup of sugar
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 cup of raisins (optional)
Butter, for greasing
Method
Preheat your oven to 175°C. Grease a baking dish with butter.
In a large bowl, mix milk, cream, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Whisk until combined.
Add the torn bread pieces to the mixture, letting them soak for about 10 minutes.
If you’re using raisins, stir them in gently. Pour everything into the prepared baking dish.
Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden and the center is set.
