Ingredients
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons dried rosemary
1 tablespoon sugar
1 packet active dry yeast
1 cup warm water (about 43°C)
2 large onions, sliced
2 tablespoons olive oil
Method
1. First, mix the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, salt, rosemary, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl.
2. Add warm water to the dry mixture. Stir until a dough starts to form.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it’s smooth and elastic.
4. In a pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Cook the sliced onions until they turn golden and caramelized.
5. After the dough rises, fold in the caramelized onions and shape it into a loaf. Let it rise again before baking at 190°C for 25 to 30 minutes.
