Ingredients
1 kg potatoes, peeled and sliced
300 g diced ham
300 ml cream
200 ml milk
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
100 g grated cheese
30 g butter
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 190°C. Grease a baking dish with butter.
2. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish. Add half of the ham and sprinkle half of the garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper on top.
3. Pour half of the cream and milk mixture over the layers. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, ham, and seasonings.
4. Pour the rest of the cream and milk on top. Finish by sprinkling grated cheese over the entire dish.
5. Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
