Ingredients
– 1 sheet of puff pastry
– 100 g of cheese (grated)
– 100 g of pesto
– 1 egg (beaten for egg wash)
– 1 tsp of dried herbs (optional)
– Fresh basil leaves (for garnish)
– Salt (to taste)
– Pepper (to taste)
– Flour (for dusting)
– Sesame seeds (for sprinkling)
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly dusted surface. Cut it into four rectangles.
3. Spread pesto evenly over each piece. Add grated cheese on top and sprinkle with herbs, salt, and pepper if desired.
4. Fold the rectangles in half lengthwise. Cut slits on the top, leaving about 1 cm uncut at the bottom.
5. Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle sesame seeds before baking for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
