Ingredients
– 1 cup of plain flour
– 1 cup of sugar
– 1/2 cup of cocoa powder
– 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder
– 1/4 teaspoon of salt
– 1/2 cup of milk
– 1/4 cup of vegetable oil
– 2 large eggs
– 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
– 1 cup of boiling water
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Grease and line a cake pan.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the plain flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Stir the dry ingredients together until evenly mixed.
3. Add milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the bowl. Mix everything until the batter is smooth.
4. Carefully pour in the boiling water and stir until the mixture is well combined. The batter will be quite thin.
5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
