Creamy Mushroom Pasta Recipe

Ingredients
250 g fettuccine or pasta of your choice
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
400 g mushrooms, sliced
300 ml cream
1 teaspoon dried thyme
Salt and pepper to taste
Parmesan cheese, for serving
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Method
1. Cook the pasta in boiling salted water according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until soft.

3. Stir in the minced garlic and sliced mushrooms. Cook for an additional 8 to 10 minutes until mushrooms are golden brown.

4. Pour in the cream and add dried thyme. Bring to a gentle simmer and season with salt and pepper. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.

5. Combine the cooked pasta with the sauce and mix well. Serve with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley if desired.
