Cauliflower Cheese
Ingredients
– 1 large cauliflower
– 2 cups milk
– 50 g butter
– 50 g plain flour
– 2 cups grated cheese
– 1 teaspoon mustard powder
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon pepper
– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
– Fresh parsley (for garnish)
Method
1. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees Celsius (400 degrees Fahrenheit).
2. Cut the cauliflower into florets and steam them until tender, about 10 minutes.
3. Melt butter in a saucepan, then stir in flour to make a roux, cooking for 2 minutes.
4. Gradually add milk, stirring continuously until the sauce thickens. Mix in cheese, mustard powder, salt, and pepper.
5. Place steamed cauliflower in a baking dish, pour the cheese sauce over it, and sprinkle breadcrumbs on top. Bake for about 20 minutes until golden brown.
