Salisbury Steak With Mushroom Gravy: A Delicious Comfort Meal

Ingredients

– 500 g ground beef
– 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
– 1 small onion, finely chopped
– 1 egg
– 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
– 250 ml beef broth
– 250 g mushrooms, sliced
– 1 tablespoon olive oil

Method

1. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Shape this mixture into four patties.
2. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 4 minutes on each side until brown. Remove them from the pan and set aside.
3. In the same pan, add sliced mushrooms. Sauté for about 5 minutes until they soften.
4. Pour the beef broth into the pan and stir well. Let this simmer for 2 minutes while scraping up any bits from the bottom.
5. Return the patties to the pan, cover, and cook for another 10 minutes until heated through.
