– 1 tablespoon butter
– 1 tablespoon milk for brushing
Method
1. First, combine the cherries, sugar, cornstarch, and salt in a saucepan over medium heat.
2. Stir the mixture and gradually add the water, then bring it to a boil while mixing.
3. Once boiling, reduce heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
4. After thickening, remove from heat and stir in lemon juice, vanilla extract, almond extract, and butter.
5. Let the cherry pie filling cool before using it in your pie or dessert.
