Caramel Oat Bars Recipe
Ingredients
125 g butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup golden syrup
1 1/2 cups rolled oats
1 cup plain flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup chocolate chips (optional)
1/2 cup nuts, chopped (optional)
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease and line a baking dish with baking paper.
2. Melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat. Stir in the brown sugar and golden syrup until smooth.
3. In a large bowl, mix rolled oats, flour, baking powder, and salt. Pour the melted mixture into the bowl and combine well.
4. Add vanilla extract, chocolate chips, and nuts if using. Stir until everything is mixed evenly.
5. Spread the mixture into the prepared baking dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
