Ingredients
3 cups sliced fresh peaches
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 tablespoons butter
1 cup water
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon milk
Method
Combine the sliced peaches, sugar, cornstarch, salt, and cinnamon in a large bowl.
Stir in the lemon juice and mix until the peaches are well coated.
In a saucepan over medium heat, pour in the water and bring it to a gentle simmer.
Add the peach mixture to the saucepan. Cook while stirring for about 5 minutes, until the mixture thickens.
Remove from heat, then mix in the vanilla extract and butter. Let it cool before using.
