Ingredients
- 3 ripe pears, peeled and sliced
- 2 cups plain flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup sugar
- ¾ cup vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup chopped nuts (optional)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Grease a cake pan with cooking spray or butter.
- In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon together.
- In another bowl, beat the sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir until combined. Fold in the pears and nuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
