Ingredients
– 500 g dried beans (navy or white)
– 1 onion, chopped
– 1 cup ketchup
– 1/2 cup brown sugar
– 1/4 cup vinegar
– 2 cups water
– 1 tsp mustard powder
– 1/2 tsp black pepper
– 1/2 tsp salt
– 4 rashers bacon, chopped
Method
1. Rinse the dried beans and soak them overnight in water.
2. Drain the beans and add them to the slow cooker.
3. Stir in the onion, ketchup, brown sugar, vinegar, water, mustard powder, black pepper, and salt.
4. Top the mixture with chopped bacon and mix everything together.
5. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours, or until beans are soft and flavors are well combined.
