1 cup plain flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
1 large egg
1/4 cup melted butter
1/2 cup icing sugar
2 tbsp water
Food coloring
Method
1. Begin by preheating the oven to 180°C. Prepare a donut pan by greasing it lightly.
2. In a bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until they are well combined.
3. Whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter in a separate bowl. Add this mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
4. Pour the batter into the donut pan, filling each mold about two-thirds full. Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
5. Allow donuts to cool before glazing. To make the glaze, whisk icing sugar, water, and food coloring together to desired consistency. Dip the top of each donut into the glaze.
