Ingredients
- 500g ground beef
- 100g unsalted butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 slices of cheese
- 1 lettuce leaf
- 1 tomato, sliced
- 1 onion, sliced
- Optional condiments: ketchup, mustard, or mayonnaise
Method
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
- While the grill is heating, shape the ground beef into four patties. Make a small indentation in the centre of each patty.
- Season both sides of the patties with salt and pepper. Place each patty on the grill or skillet.
- Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side. Add a slice of cheese on each patty just before they are done.
- Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for a minute. Assemble the burgers with the lettuce, tomato, onion, and any condiments you like.
