Ingredients
- 1 cup gram flour (besan)
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup water
- 1 cup yogurt
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1/4 teaspoon asafoetida powder
- Fresh coriander leaves (for garnish)
Method
- First, mix gram flour, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt, and water in a bowl until smooth.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Pour spoonfuls of the batter into the oil to make fritters, fry them until golden brown, then remove them onto a paper towel to drain.
- In another pot, combine yogurt with 1 cup of water. Stir in the remaining turmeric, cumin seeds, and asafoetida. Heat this mixture gently.
- Add the fried fritters into the yogurt mixture and let them simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving. Enjoy your tasty kadhi pakora!
