Ingredients
– 1 cup water
– 2 tablespoons sugar
– 1/2 teaspoon salt
– 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
– 1 cup plain flour
– 2 eggs
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– Oil for frying
– 1/2 cup sugar (for coating)
– 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
Method
1. Start by boiling the water, sugar, salt, and vegetable oil in a medium saucepan over high heat.
2. Once it boils, remove the saucepan from the heat and add the flour while stirring quickly until it forms a dough.
3. Let the dough cool a bit, then mix in the eggs and vanilla extract until smooth.
4. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. Use a piping bag or a ziplock with the corner cut to pipe the dough into 10cm strips.
5. Fry the churros until golden brown, then coat them in a mix of sugar and cinnamon immediately after taking them out of the oil.
