Ingredients
2 cups of spaghetti
4 cups of water
1 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of olive oil
2 cloves of garlic, minced
1 can (400g) of diced tomatoes
1 teaspoon of dried oregano
1 teaspoon of sugar
1/2 cup of grated cheese
Fresh basil leaves for garnish
Method
Boil water in a large pot and add salt.
Once bubbling, toss in the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions.
While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute, then stir in diced tomatoes, oregano, and sugar.
Simmer the sauce for 10 minutes, then mix in the drained pasta and top with cheese and basil leaves.
