Ingredients
– 1 sheet of puff pastry
– 2 cups fresh tomatoes, sliced
– 1 cup shredded cheese
– 1 teaspoon dried oregano
– 1 teaspoon olive oil
– 1 egg, beaten
– Salt, to taste
– Pepper, to taste
– 1 clove garlic, minced
– Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2. Roll out the puff pastry and place it on the prepared tray. Cut off any excess edges.
3. Spread the minced garlic over the pastry evenly. Layer the sliced tomatoes on top, leaving a border around the edges.
4. Sprinkle the cheese, oregano, salt, and pepper over the tomatoes. Drizzle olive oil over everything.
5. Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the pastry is golden and crispy. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.
